As every year passes here in Bermuda, sadly….Thanksgiving Holiday seems to disappear. As Thanksgiving is not a holiday in Bermuda and since our immediate family is in California, it is not the big holiday it once was for us.
But this year we had decided that starting in 2017, I will take this day off and we will celebrate.
On my way home today I was craving a Bloody Mary. When I stopped at the local liquor store in Somerset Village, SpencerIsland, I noticed that every Bloody Mary mix had a ton of High Fructose syrup….so I decided to make my own from scratch. And…for my first try, it was pretty damn good.
This will be my recipe, until I can get the recipe from
Hemmingway’s, a place we found in the heart of Florence, Italy.
So, here it goes:
32 oz V8 (which gives you tomatoes, carrots, celery, beets, parsley, lets, watercress & spinach)
14.5 oz can organic crushed fire roasted tomatoes (don’t ask, I just added this)
1 tsp crushed garlic (I would have used horseradish, but I didn’t have any)
2 tsp black pepper
Dash or 2 of tobacco
Juice of one lemon
Juice of 2 limes
Place in blender…and blend, set aside
In a shaker add the following
Ice
Pinch of salt
Dash (or 2) of Worcestershire sauce
